The United States does not believe that Islamic militants, regardless of their affiliation or structure, share a common goal, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said. The comments were made in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Monday.
