The World Boxing Council reportedly postponed the deadline of the negotiations on the mandated title fight between new WBC middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) and WBA (Super), IBF, WBC (interim) and IBO middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs).

Four days before his title showdown with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, Miguel Cotto has been stripped off by the World Boxing Council of the middleweight belt he is supposed to defend after he refused to pay the required $300,000 sanctioning fee.

World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman has again reminded WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) and his November 21st challenger Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) that the winner of their match later this month must face WBC interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin afterward.
