To make the project a reality, the Nokia Network Service Platform along with 7950 Extensible Routing System core routers would provide the needed efficiency and flexibility to cater to various demands of data centers.

Jiangsu Telecom is one of China Telecom's regional branch. The company aims to deploy the first commercial carrier WAN-SDN to various data centers located in Changzhou, Yangzgou and other nearby cities within the province of Jiangsu.

In a statement, Nokia Networks China joint management team leader Mike Wang said, "As IDC network loads get heavier, operators are turning to cloud-based technologies to balance their network and make IDC management more efficient, flexible and seamless."

Jiangsu Telecom plans to deploy the Networks Services Platform for its core network router. Considered as the next-generation 7950 XRS, it can support a large capacity and has flexibility to support the core that connects various data centers. The Network Services Platform would be responsible for programming the core to efficiently utilize resources by properly balancing traffic loads and adjusting to rapid change in traffic demands.

This new project is expected to enhance Jiangsu Telecom's network flexibility, as well as reduce overhead cost.
