Tech company Lenovo has unveiled the new Moto Z Play at the 2016 IFA conference in Berlin. The Moto Z Play sports a similar design to the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force. However, the Moto Z Play is only 7mm thick.

While the Lenovo Moto Z Play's size does sound intimidating, the smartphone is not a pushover in terms of hardware specs. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, 3GB of memory, and 32GB of storage space. The device comes with a microSD card slot.

The Lenovo Moto Z Play runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. This means that Lenovo might be working to support mobile payment systems. The smartphone supports dual-SIM configuration, a USB Type-C port, and a liquid repellant coating.

According to Giz China, the Moto Z Play has a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphone has a massive 3510mAh battery pack which Lenovo claims can power the device for up to 50 hours on normal usage. Lenovo also claims that its fast-charging technology can give the battery eight hours of power time with only 15 minutes of charging.

The Lenovo Moto Z Play has a 16-megapixel rear facing main shooter with f/2.0 aperture. It also has a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter with a LED flash. The Moto Z Play supports Moto Mods design giving users a lot of options for modifying or adding complimentary peripherals to the smartphone. Modules like the Hasselblad True Zoom, which Lenovo also unveiled at the 2016 IFA conference, can significantly improve the phone's camera features.

Lenovo is yet to confirm the official price of the Moto Z Play.
