China's Zhu Ting finally reunited with her parents in Henan Province on Thursday after participating in post-Olympic activities that took her on a trip around the country.
According to Xinhua, the Chinese women's national volleyball team returned to Beijing from a successful Rio campaign with their gold medal in hand on August 23. However, with a long list of commitments to attend to, the 2016 Summer Olympic Games women's volleyball MVP was too busy to go home.

China's winning volleyball squad had to attend a slew of events upon returning to the country. They toured around Hong Kong, Macau, Tsinghua University, and Peking University as part of their post-Olympic activities.
Among other duties, Zhu had to take part in commercial activities. A real estate company even awarded her a 3.6 million RMB ($539,000.00) villa to recognize her achievement and for the purpose of advertising.
"I'm so busy and tired, I like the life on the court but not these activities. However, we need to attend to popularize volleyball and, because so many people now love China's women's volleyball team," Zhu said.
Zhu's reunion with her family, however sweet and long-awaited, would be a short one.
"I have only two days to stay with my parents. I love them but I have to leave next Monday and fly to Turkey to start my new life in club Vakifbank Istanbul," Zhu added.
Zhu inked a deal with Turkey's Vakifbank Istanbul in April. The deal was proposed by Chinese women's volleyball team head coach Lang Ping.
Zhu was born in a little village in central China's Henan Province in 1994. She is one of five children. She left home to study in a sports school in 2007.
Standing 1.79 meters tall, Zhu became a member of the Chinese women's volleyball team six years later.
China defeated Serbia in the championship round in Rio on August 20 to claim the country's third Olympic gold medal of the event.
