Smartphone manufacturer BLU has unveiled its new unlocked mid-range smartphone model. Dubbed as the BLU Vivo 5R, the phones costs $200, and it packs a decent set of specs.

According to Giz China, the BLU Vivo 5R sports a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution. Powering the device is a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with an octa-core processor, 3GB of memory, and 32GB of storage space.

The Vivo 5R has a Sony IMX258 sensor with a 13-megapxiel rear facing main camera with PDAF, and a 5-megapixel front facing selfie shooter equipped with a LED flash. The phone has a 3150mAh battery pack. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and has a fingerprint scanner situated on the rear panel just below the camera flash. The BLU Vivo 5R supports DTS Surround Sound technology. It will come in two colors: white-gold and gun metal gray.

The BLU Vivo 5R looks hauntingly similar to its predecessors. There are speculations that the R on the phone's name stands for 'refresh.' Although some prominent smartphone manufacturers are starting to ditch the traditional 3.5mm audio jack on their latest smartphone models, BLU decided to keep the ubiquitous feature on the Vivo 5R and still retain quite a thin build at just 8.1mm.

For $200, many analysts consider the BLU Vivo 5R as a decent smartphone. Especially since the phone runs on the Android Marshmallow. The phone is currently available for pre-order on Amazon and Best Buy. The company is expected to start shipping the device on Sept. 21.
