Following the successful launch of the Apollo Lite and Thor smartphone, Vernee is once again gearing up to release a new device on the market, dubbed only as Vernee Mars. As part of its campaign to draw attention towards its upcoming smartphone model, Vernee has released the official specs sheet of the Mars smartphone.

According to Giz China, the Vernee Mars has a 5.5-inch display with 1920x1080 resolution. Powering the smartphone is a MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with an octa-core processor backed by 4GB of memory and 32GB of storage space. It has a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 rear facing camera and a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E2 front facing selfie shooter.

Powering the device is a 3000mAh battery pack. Since the phone has a MediaTek chipset, it would mostly likely support MediaTek's fast charging technology. The Vernee Mars runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system right out of the box. The phone measures 151.6mm x 73mm x 7.6 mm.

According to Android Headlines, the Vernee Mars has an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Mars also sports the conventional 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner is located on the right side of the phone.

The Vernee Mars is expected to hit the market soon. The phone is currently available for pre-order for only $250. However, Vernee is yet to confirm the official price of the smartphone once it hits the market. There are rumors that Vernee is planning to release an upgraded version of the phone--dubbed as the Vernee Mars Pro--in December.
