Elephone has stirred the tech community after claiming that its upcoming flagship device, the Elephone R9, can match the Apple iPhone 7 in terms of craftsmanship.

The Elephone R9 is the first device that would be launched in the R series of smartphones. The R9 is Elephone's answer to the iPhone 7. Elephone did a really good job in designing the R9 to look very much similar to the iPhone 7.

The Elephone R9 has a full metal chassis with a 2.5D glass coating; the same with the iPhone 7. Elephone claims that its upcoming flagship device features the same nano-injection technology used by Apple to boost the signal strength and stability of the iPhone 7.

Elephone said that, just like the iPhone 7, the R9 is also anodized. If this is true, the Elephone R9 would feel like the iPhone 7, and will sport a more premium look as well.

The Elephone R9 sports a 5.5-inch display with 1920x1080 resolution, according to Giz China. At the heart of the device is a MediaTek Helio X20 chipset, with 4GB of memory, and 64GB of storage space. The R9 also has a fingerprint scanner which is embedded on the phone's home button.

The Elephone R9 has a 13-megapixel rear facing main camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing selfie shooter. The phone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The phone is expected to be released on presale before the end of the month.
