Liaoning Flying Leopards' player He Tianju has reportedly been invited by the New Orleans Pelicans to participate in the club's training camp ahead of the 2016-17 season.
According to Asia-Basket, ESPN reported that the 6-foot-9 Chinese power forward, who weighs 202 pounds, has received an invitation to join the NBA club's training camp.

The 25-year-old Chinese hoopster last played competitively in the United States after he was invited by the Pelicans in the 2015 Summer League. He managed to register averages of three points and one rebound per game.
He, who has been playing for Liaoning since the year 2007, had played the power forward position ever since he joined the Flying Leopards in China. However, the Chinese standout has shown the ability to play as a small five or potentially as a defensive small forward.
Liaoning Flying Leopards finished the CBA's 2015-16 regular season as the No. 1 team, winning 31 of their 38 official games in the league. The team reach to the championship round but fell short of winning the title after losing to the Sichuan Blue Whales in five games.
According to ClutchPoints, He could offer some depth to the Pelicans lineup, which has been carried by NBA All-Star Anthony Davis since he was drafted. Furthermore, with Davis having been injured multiple times over the past few years, He could see an increase in playing time as the season progresses, granted that he makes it to the team's roster.
The Pelicans failed to make it in the playoffs last season and ended 12th in the 15-team Western Conference after winning 30 of their 82 games in the season.
