Chinese smartphone manufacturer THL recently announced that it is finally throwing its hat into the smart wearable market with the launch of the company's very first smart fitness device dubbed as the THL P1.

It is worth noting that THL is one of the first smartphone manufacturers to have gained a lot of traction during the early days of the Chinese smartphone revolution.

It was eventually overshadowed, though, by its larger competitors and went on hiatus. In fact, the last phone THL released was almost a year ago.

Meanwhile, the news about THL's upcoming smartwatch stirred the tech community after an alleged email from the company surfaced over several tech websites. The email claims that the people behind THL is gearing up for the launch of the company's first smart fitness band.

Although the THL P1 is tagged as a smart fitness tracker, the device looks more like a smartwatch with its rounded display and rubber strap, which is available in three different colors - black, gold and rose gold.

Among the many features of the THL P1 are heart rate monitor, calorie monitor, sleep tracker and sports smart track.

The fitness band is also IP67 compliant, which means that it is waterproof. It has anti-loss security features as well, WeChat QQ messaging client, and can be used to remotely snap photos.

While it can be synced to a supported smartphone using Bluetooth connection, it is just easy to transfer files with the THL smart fitness device.

However, Giz China reported that the company has yet to confirm the official release date of its first-ever fitness device, the THL P1, which will cost $29.
