Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer MediaTek recently unveiled the company's three newest chipsets: the Helio X30, Helio P20 and Helio P25.

These three new chipsets are expected to power some upcoming flagship smartphones from prominent manufacturers this year.

Headlining the new series of chipsets is the MediaTek Helio X30. Based on TSMC's new 10nm manufacturing process, the Helio X30 will have the same tri-cluster setup just like its predecessor, the Helio X20. Every cluster of the Helio X30 is expected to have a clocked speed of at least 2.0GHz, four Cortex A35 cores clocked at 2GHz, four A53 cores clocked at 2.3GHz, and two new A73 cores clocked at 2.8GHz. The chipset is also anticipated to support up to 8GB of LPDDR4 memory, 4K video playback and 4K video recording at 34 frames per second.

The Helio P20 and the Helio P25, on the other hand, are slated to be the upgraded versions of the P10. The two upcoming chipsets will have a slightly faster CPU and GPU clock speeds, as they both are built around the TSMC's 16nm process.

The only difference, as hinted by Giz China, is that the Helio P25 will support dual camera setup with optical zoom.

MediaTek's new chipsets are reportedly becoming the top choice for several smartphone manufacturers, a scenario that has helped the company's popularity over the years.

With the growing competition from more established companies such as Samsung and Qualcomm, MediaTek's latest line of chipsets is a sure indication of its commitment to continuously bring quality products to the market.
