"We are just all in it to give a good show to the people, to the paying audience, to the audience at the Beijing National Stadium, to the people at home... Regardless of the result, you know, who cares. It's a music competition. Music is not a quantifiable thing. You can't really say in binary forms what is good, what is bad, what is better."
Hartono acknowledged that there are going to be some changes in his life following the competition. The Singaporean crooner also said he is preparing for the new challenges in is career.
But amid his upcoming hectic schedules over the next few months, Hartono, for the meantime, could not wait to go home and spend time with his loved ones.
"I just hope people see in this that it's not so much about win or lose, it's about trying, about taking the leap, and making sure you do your best, and tackle things that terrify you, because it could change your life. It certainly changed mine," he said.
Meanwhile, Hartono admitted that he was disappointed when he failed to perform the second part of his harmonica solo, The Straits Time reported.
"I was supposed to do beat box and another harmonica solo in the middle of the song," Hartono told The Straits Times. "But dancers took away my harmonica."
"My heart broke into a million pieces as I watched the instrument move further and further away from me. I had practiced for hours and hours in the hotel room."
Hartono ended up doing the beat box only. But despite the glitch, his performance received a warm applause and got him the second-highest votes after the round.
The Singapore's pride Hartono finished off second in the Sing! China finale. The crown was won by China's Jiang Dunhao.
