While many airline companies and governments have already banned the Galaxy Note 7 onboard flights, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is yet to officially prohibit the phone starting Thursday (Oct. 27).
The ban is part of China's effort to ensure the safety of its passengers from the device's defective battery, which has been linked to overheating and catching fire accidents, the Android Authority noted.

CAAC previously moved to prohibit passengers from using and charging the Note 7 aboard flights from China on Sept. 14, according to Reuters.
China's recent decision to ban the Galaxy Note 7 came after latest reports reveal that Samsung has been rather arrogant towards its Chinese customers, the Phone Arena reported. Such attitude was also reportedly shown in the United States, prompting several Galaxy Note 7 owners to file a lawsuit.
Samsung initially assured Chinese customers that the Note 7 handsets sold in the country were not affected with the exploding battery problems, because it was earlier assumed that the battery made by Samsung SDI were causing the fire-related issues, Ubergizmo noted. However, that assumption turned out to be wrong after replacement units were also reported to be also susceptible to catching fire.
The South Korean giant still cannot determine the source of the issue and has yet to conclude its in-depth investigation, Android Headlines reported. Furthermore, reports reveal that it will suspend its Galaxy S8 development so it could continue and focus on figuring out what really went wrong.
Samsung has already cut its losses after reports of replacement units and was forced to permanently stop the production of its latest flagship units. The South Korean company is still in the process of issuing refunds and alternative units, according to the Android Headlines.
