In a statement released along with the tool, Chainfire said the "images for the Pixel need to be 'fastboot boot'ed, not flashed. After a few minutes, and a couple of reboots, Android should boot fully rooted."

Pixel and Pixel XL devices that were sold by Verizon have a bootloader that is not unlockable. However, Chainfire said the tool, dubbed dePixel8, will allow users to root the two Google smartphones, according to Phone Arena.

One quick side note, though, Chainfire shared that the dePixel8 tool will no longer be usable once Google starts to roll out the November security update for the two Pixel devices. Thus, modders are advised to unlock the bootloader before Google starts releasing the update.

Chainfire added that the dePixel8 tool will also work with other international versions of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.

Rooting is a process that allows users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running on the Android platform to attain the privileged control called Root Access.

Rooted devices usually allow users to overcome certain limitations imposed by network carriers and hardware manufacturers.

While rooting tools are readily available all over the Internet, the process is very complicated and usually done by experts.

Amid the fact that rooting unlocks a lot of interesting features, doing it the wrong way can render the device completely unusable or bricked.

Keep posted for more dePixel8 rooting tool.
