Honda recently unveiled the Honda CRF250L and CRF250 Rally at the 2016 EICMA Motorcycle Show. The two new 250cc bikes are compliant with the Euro IV emission standards.

In terms of upgrades, the single-cylinder engine is now more powerful than previous iterations. It also received a boost to the bottom-end torque, which gives the bike an improved ride comfort even in off-road environments.

Honda said that the two CRF bikes have improved power at 24.4PS with 8,500rpm. Torque was also improved at 22.6Nm at 6,750rpm. The company said that it was able to hit these figures by making amends on the bikes' fuel injection system, throttle body, air box, and exhaust, according to Overdrive.

In terms of design cue, the Honda CRF250L is inspired from the CRF450R. The bike received a handful of new upgrades on its instrument panel. It has a new tachometer and a fuel gauge. The seat height was also improved at 875mm. The new CRF250L retains the standard steel frame and Showa suspension used by its direct predecessor.

With all these new upgrades including the 7.8 liter fuel tank capacity, the Honda CRF250L weighs in at about 146kg.

The Honda CRF250 Rally, on the other hand, is based on the CRF250L, the only difference is that the former is designed for long distance driving both on- and off-road. The two bikes have the same engine, but the CRF250 Rally sports a larger fuel tank with a 10.1 liter capacity. It also sports a long travel suspension and a higher 895mm seat height, according to Cycle World.

Since the CRF250 Rally is primarily designed for off-road long-distance riding, the bike has a large skid plate that protects the underside of the engine. It also has a foldable gear lever to make sure it can sustain damage in case the bike falls.
