Manchester City and Juventus are two teams reportedly set to submit an offer to Arsenal in January for the signature of their prized forward Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez, who is a versatile attacker that can play both the striker and winger positions, is one of the most in-demand footballers at the moment after he had recently failed to reach a contract extension agreement with the Gunners, as per The Sun.

The Chile international, who will turn 28 this December, has only less than two years remaining in his present contract with Arsenal and is rumored to be demanding a significant wage increase from the $164,000 weekly salary he currently receives.

Arsenal is rumored to be unwilling to spend more than that on Sanchez and could eventually sell the former Barcelona attacker than risk losing him on a free transfer when his contract expires in 2018.

However, if the Chilean accepts the same deal, the Gunners would be happy to extend him to another three years in London, according to the Mirror.

Premier League club Manchester City and Italian Serie A team Juventus are both prepared to provide Sanchez his request, according to latest reports. The two clubs are said to be each preparing a huge $63 million proposal to Arsenal, which they will submit when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Sanchez is on his way to another remarkable performance after scoring six goals in 10 appearances so far in the English top-flight competitions, leading the Gunners to a 7-1-3 win-loss-draw record after 11 games this season.

Sanchez has been hailed by former Barça mentor Pep Guardiola, now the manager of City, as one of the most versatile attackers in the sport, saying that he is "a player who can play in three positions."

Meanwhile, the Italian champions have always been fond of Sanchez since his Udinese days from 2006 to 2011 and have repeatedly failed in his bids for him.

Juve was in a transfer battle with Barcelona in 2011 for Sanchez, but the Chilean has chosen to join Guardiola and the Catalan giants at that time.

It seems like Juve is going to be frustrated once again by Guardiola this January as Sanchez weighs in on his future options.
