(Photo : YouTube Screenshot) Several 'The Walking Dead' fans believe Rick and Daryl were exchanging messages during the latter's short visit to Alexandria under the Savior's mercy.
The fourth episode of The Walking Dead's seventh season witnessed not only the reunion of fearsome antagonist Negan and Rick but also saw Daryl's short return to Alexandria under the Savior's commands, who were there to collect their tribute.
Although Daryl kept his mouth shut the entire episode, a lot of die-hard fans are convinced that his eye contact to Rick may have indirectly conveyed an important message.

Reddit user CaramelComplexion believes that Daryl's blinking and Rick's finger-tapping on Lucille might have been a Morse code, or specifically coordinates to a certain location. It can be noticed on last Sunday's episode how the camera was zoomed in to show Daryl's intent blinks in Rick's direction, the Konbini reported.
Many are considering the possibility that the two were indeed communicating after an atypical American Morse code chart hanging on Rick's Alexandrian home could be spotted early in the episode.
Exploring on the survivors' history, it can be recalled in the series' fifth season that Carol taught Daryl the basics of Morse code while the survivors were searching for Beth. This is then something he ended up using with his brother Merle when they hunted and communicated, Konbini noted. Daryl, who is like a brother to Rick, may have shared it to him too.
Meanwhile, using the Morse code chart, user AMALLAMAAMA decoded the message as "I,E,A,S,T." The message could be translated as "I" and "East" or "I am East," according to the Comic Book.
So apparently, it appears that Daryl is telling Rick where to find him. And if you base this on The Walking Dead's comic map, the Savior's fortress is indeed situated east of Alexandria in the state of Virginia.
However, some fans say the code was "HT," presumably for Hilltop, the Insider reported.
Thus, it is still unclear if Daryl is east of an important landmark like The Hilltop or Alexandria, according to NME. But Rick appears to have picked up the message but refused to share it to the group yet.
On the other hand, while many are worried that Rick is starting to kiss Negan's feet, the sign on Alexandria, which reads "Mercy to the lost, Vengeance to the plunderer, focused on the end part of the episode may say the otherwise.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
