India's PV Sindhu completed her remarkable run in Fuzhou in a glorious way as she claimed her maiden BWF China Open title after getting the better of Sun Yu in her own home country with a hard-fought 21-11, 17-21, 21-11 three-set triumph on Sunday.
The 2016 Summer Olympic Games silver medalist battled her way in reaching the final round of the prestigious USD 700,000 World Superseries Premier event after beating an array of world class badminton players with the likes of China's He Bingjiao and South Korea's Sung Ji Hyun.

Sindhu, who became the second Indian player to claim the illustrious badminton title since Saina Nehwal achieved the feat two years ago, wrapped up the championship match in an hour and nine minutes.
"It has been a dream for a long time to win a Superseries," Sindhu said after the match.
"After the Olympics, everyone was asking me: 'what's next?' It was important for me to get a Superseries title. Life changed a lot after the Olympics. People thought I would take a long time to get back, but I worked hard." The winning Indian badminton star added.
Basing from the head-to-head matchup record in the official website of the BWF, the 21-year-old native of Hyderabad prevailed over the home crowd favorite Chinese shuttler for the third time after six official matches contested since 2011.
Sun is currently ranked No. 9 in the world by the BWF and was handed the tournament's eighth seed. Prior to her runner-up finish at the China Open, she also recently reached the final round of the Japan Open last September.
The Fuzhou event broke the streak of bad performances of the eight-year veteran badminton player following her great accomplishment at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games three months ago. Sindhu suffered disappointing campaigns in the last Denmark and French Open after being eliminated in the first round matches of both tournaments last month.
