Chinese smartphone maker Apollo officially confirmed that its highly anticipated device - the Varnee Apollo smartphone - is set to be unveiled in China this month and it will go on sale on December this year. The phone is being called as the first Mediatek VR flagship.

The Varnee Apollo smartphone will feature 5.5 Quad HD 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) display screen along with a 541 ppi pixel densities. Under the hood, the handheld device is powered by a deca-core MediaTek's Helio X25 processor clocked at a speed of 2.5GHz, which is paired with Mali-T880 GPU for the graphics. It comes equipped with a gigantic 6GB of RAM onboard and has a built-in 128GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot.

On the camera side, the Varnee Apollo sports a 21-megapixels Sony IMX230 primary shooter and 8-megapixels front facing camera for selfies. The device runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, along with Varnee's latest customized user interface laid on top and various pre-installed applications. The phone is fueled by a lithium-ion 4000mAh capacity battery inside with Varnee's latest fast charging technology support.

Other features the Varnee Apollo smartphone offers include GSM, WCDMA, 4G LTE network support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, USB type-c port, and micro SIM support.

Meanwhile, the official price of the Vernee Apollo smartphone is still unknown yet, but the company expects it would be around $399 (approximately 2,750.85 Yuan / Rs. 27,205.81).
