A recently conducted poll of likely voters revealed that former Massachusetts U.S. Senator Scott Brown has tied with incumbent New Hampshire U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen in his attempt to take her seat in the upcoming midterm elections.

The survey, conducted by the CNN/Opinion Research of 735 likely voters, showed that about 48 percent of likely voters were in support of Shaheen while another 48 chose to vote for Brown.

According to the poll that was released on Monday, nearly 81 percent of the poll participants said they have already decided on the candidate they will support on Nov. 4, while 17 percent said they may still change their mind on who they would vote for.

Former Senator Brown, who was originally from Massachusetts and served as its senator from 2012 to 2013, moved to New Hampshire, where he won a three-way Republican primary against U.S. Senator Bob Smith and former state Senator Jim Rubens.

Brown's campaign has amassed the support of many Republicans, with reports saying that Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul will be travelling to New Hampshire on Friday to endorse him.

Meanwhile, the survey also showed that Paul is in the lead against potential 2016 presidential candidates of the Republican party in New Hampshire.

About 15 percent of the voters who are likely to participate in the primary said they will be voting for Paul, giving him a five-point lead against likely opponents, Wisconsin Governor Paul Ryan and Florida Representative Jeb Bush.

Democratic voters, on the other hand, had an obvious favorite in the 2016 presidential race, with over 60 percent showing their support for former State Secretary Hillary Clinton.

Clinton's supporters is five times as many as her nearest challenger, Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren.

The CNN/Opinion Research poll was conducted between September 8 and 11, with a margin of error of 3.5 percent.
