Premier League Club Stoke City may very well lose Wilfried Bony to a cash-rich Chinese club in the upcoming transfer market, as it has been revealed that the Ivorian international's contract has a clause that allows its former club Manchester City to sell him to China.

Stoke City had signed Wilfried Bony on loan from Manchester City on deadline day of the last transfer market that concluded ahead of the current season.
The news of the 'sale out' clause has not gone too well with Stoke's manager Mark Hughes, claiming that the Ivorian international is very much interested in continuing his career in the premier league.
"I think that may well be true," said Hughes when inquired about the clause. "A lot of things have come to the fore to make that happen, not least that Wilf needs to want to go himself."
Hughes confirmed that the Stoke so far has no plans to offer any fee to sign Bony from Manchester City on permanent basis.
Reports in British media have been buzzing about the Man City's plan to permanently offload Bony to a cash-rich Chinese club for making handful of profit from the sale out. The 27-year-old Ivorian was signed by Man City during the January 2015 transfer market for a reportedly huge sum of money.
The Ivorian international player, however, was deemed as sort of irrelevant by Man City's new manager Pep Guardiola, who eventually chose to offer Bony to Stoke City on a loan.
Bony has so far scored two goals for potters; both of which were scored against his former club Swansea City. Apart from those two goals, his overall impressive performance this season has made him immensely popular among potter fans.
If Bony does get acquired by a Chinese Club, then he would be the latest star to join the cash-rich Chinese Super League. The CSL, with its new found financial muscle, has signed galaxy of stars this season including Hulk, Jackson Martinez, Ramires, and Graziano Pelle.
