Chinese Basketball Association: Guangdong Southern Tigers Beat Beijing Ducks, Extend Winning Streak to 8

Third-ranked Guangdong Southern Tigers carry on with their winning roll after getting the better of the seventh-ranked Beijing Ducks with a dominant 105-101 victory in the 13th round of the Chinese Basketball Association on Friday night.
According to EuroBasket, the Southern Tigers was led by the team's foreign basketball reinforcement Donald Sloan, who poured in with a game-high 35 points to go along with five assists, four rebounds, and two steals in 43 minutes of playing time. The former NBA journeyman registered a 12 for 24 shooting clip while making seven of eight from the free throw line.

Two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer and reigning CBA Domestic MVP Yi Jianlian posted another double-double game performance for the Southern Tigers. Boozer had 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Yi finished the game with 15 markers and 10 boards.
Stephon Marbury paced Beijing with 29 points and game-high 13 assists while Randolph Morris also 29 markers and grabbed 11 rebounds.
With the win, the Southern Tigers notched its 10th triumph in 13 games played since the start of the season. Guangdong has won all of its last eight matches played since losing to the current league leader Shanghai Sharks in the fifth round of the regular season early last month.
Basing from the match result in the website of NowGoal, the game was a close one. The winning team took the opening quarter with a slim one-point lead 30-29 before capping the first half with a five-point advantage 58-53.
The Southern Tigers, who edges the Ducks in the rebound department with a 40-34 advantage, stage a 31-27 run in the third frame of the ballgame and secured a better nine-point lead 89-80 going into the final period of the rubber match.
The Ducks put on a last quarter 21-16 run, but it was not enough to steal the victory away from the Southern Tigers, who will play Beikong Fly Dragons in the next round of regular season on Sunday.
