Beijing Ducks Prevail over Shenzhen Leopards in the Round 14 of the Chinese Basketball Association

The Beijing Ducks got the better of the Shenzhen Leopards with a close 113-111 victory on Sunday evening in the 14th round of the ongoing 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) at the LeSports Center in China's capital city.
Two-time NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury poured in 23 points and dished out six assists to lead the Ducks notched their ninth victory of the season. The 6-foot-2-inches tall veteran American point guard also pulled down four rebounds and was able to snatch four steals during the course of the game.

According to the report of Sina, the victory was Beijing's first game to prevail over a much higher ranked ballclub as the regular season began last October. With the win, the Ducks moves to the seventh spot of the league's team standing having a 9-5 win-loss record.
On the other hand, Shenzhen suffered its fourth loss of the season and now currently shares the fifth and sixth spots of the table with the Liaoning Flying Leopards with an identical 10-4 win-loss card. They failed to extend the team's winning streak after claiming seven straight victories in the previous rounds.
Basing from the match result in the website of the NowGoal, the Ducks kicked off the opening period with a good start but ended up trailing by two points, 23-21 as the first quarter ended. However, the host team managed to regroup in the second quarter and stage a 36-30 run to cap the first half leading by four, 57-53.
In the third period, the Leopards put up a remarkable 33-23 run to enter the final 12 minutes with a six-point advantage on hand, 86-80. However, the Ducks were able to make a comeback after making a 33-25 fourth quarter outburst to steal the victory from the visiting team.
Foreign reinforcement Jeremy Pargo paced Shenzhen with game-high 40 points.
The Ducks will be playing Jilin Northeast Tigers in the next round on Wednesday, while the Leopards will be facing the Beikong Fly Dragons on Friday.
