Chinese Basketball Association: Shanghai Sharks Rout Bayi Rockets, Jimmer Fredette with a Double-Double Game Performance

League powerhouse Shanghai Sharks continued to extend its winning streak as they demolished the lowly Bayi Rockets with a 93-77 triumph in the 14th round of the 2016-2017 season of the Chinese Basketball Association on Sunday evening.

According to EuroBasket, former NBA player Jimmer Fredette had a remarkable double-double game performance of 36 points and 10 rebounds to steer the Sharks to their 13th victory of the season. The current CBA scoring leader also posted five assists and five steals while playing for a solid 34 minutes.

Fredette, who is averaging 38.8 points per outing, went on a 10 for 16 shooting from the two point range and connected three of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc region. The former New York Knicks player also had done a good job at the stripe making 7-8 from the foul line.

Chinese center Zhaoxu Zhang also had a double-double game production of 18 markers and 13 boards, while XiaoYu Liu and Wei Lu chipped in with 15 points and 11 points, respectively, for the winners, who are on a seven-game winning run.

Local player Shuo Han paced Bayi with 23 points while Lei Meng added with 18.

With the victory, the Sharks remain on the top of the league's team standing along with the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, who also own an identical 13-1 win-loss card. Shanghai is scheduled to play the eighth-ranked Shandong Flaming Bulls in the next round of the regular season on Friday.

Basing from the game result in the website of NowGoal, Bayi had a good opening quarter start as they outscored Shanghai 23-19. However, the Sharks immediately regrouped and staged a 25-14 second quarter outburst to cap the first half of the game leading by seven points, 44-37.

In the second half of the match, the Sharks produced a combined 49 points while containing the opposing side to just 40 points during the final 24 minutes of the contest to seal the win.
