Chinese Basketball Association: Guangsha Lions Continue to Win, Former NBA Player Courtney Fortson Scores 26 Points

Former NBA player Courtney Fortson of the Guangsha Lions tops all scorers to hand Guangzhou Long Lions their 12th loss of the season and continued to strengthen their hold on the top of the league's team standings.
According to EuroBasket, the 28-year-old American point guard scored a game-high 26 points to lead the ChunJiang Li-headed basketball squad to a 107-75 routing of Guangzhou in the 14th round of the 2016-2017 season of the Chinese Basketball Association. Fortson was an assist away in registering a double-double game performance and had also posted eight rebounds and three steals in solid 40 minutes of playing time.

Chinese center Jinqiu Hu contributed with 18 points, while the product of Detroit Titans Elijah Holman finished the game with a double-double game production of 16 markers and 12 boards for the victors.
Guangsha enjoyed the luxury of having a better three-point shooting connection hitting 10 of their team-combined 27 attempts from beyond the arc area with their opponents going 6-for-23 from the three-point line. They also dominated the boards with a commanding 65-43 advantage during the game.
Basing from the match result in the website of NowGoal, the Lions generally dominated the entire game outscoring the opposing side in all of the four periods of the contest. Guangsha was able to establish a 17-point lead, 59-42, in the first half of the game and continued to pound Guangzhou with a 48-33 run in the final 24 minutes of the match.
With the win, the Lions were able to maintain their share in the league leadership along with the Shanghai Sharks, who also owns an impressive 13-1 win-loss record. On the other hand, the lowly Long-Lions remained at the bottom of the table with two victories in 14 games played this season.
Guangsha will next play third-ranked Guangdong Southern Tigers in the following round of the competition on Wednesday, while Guangzhou will face the 15th-ranked Zhejiang Golden Bulls on Friday.
