Golden State Warriors sharp shooting guard exploded with a career-high 60 points in their 142-106 routing of the visiting Indiana Pacers at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, on Monday night.
Thompson's 60 points came in just 29 minutes, making the other-half of the "Splash Brothers" even the first NBA player ever to score at least 60 points in less than 30 minutes of playing. The Warriors were comfortably leading 114-79 with 1:22 remaining to play in the third quarter when he was given the rest by head coach Steve Kerr.

According to the official website of the NBA, Thompson's stat line was 21-for-33 from the field reflecting a remarkable 63.6 percent shooting clip. The reigning NBA Three-Point Contest King drained eight of the 14 three-point attempts that he released during the game for a decent 57.1 percent shooting accuracy from beyond the arc area and went 10-for-11 from the foul line.
Thompson's 60 points were the most through three quarters since Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant scored 62 points in a December 2005 game.
The 26-year-old native of Los Angeles, California, recorded the first 60-point game for the franchise since Rick Barry produced 64 points on a March 26, 1974 match against the Portland Trail Blazers.
His previous career high was 52 points when they played the Sacramento Kings on January 2015, a game in which he scored NBA-record 37 third-quarter points while sitting out the fourth period due to a rout.
According to the report of Chris Haynes of the ESPN, Thompson said that if he had been allowed to sub in one more time, 80 points were not out of reach.
"Maybe. I think I could have," Thompson said referring to the 81 points that Bryant recorded in Jan. 22, 2006 game against the Toronto Raptors. "Maybe one day I'll have the opportunity, but 60 in 29 minutes is not too bad. I'm satisfied with that."
