Former NBA Player Dominique Jones Scoops the Player of the Week Honors in the Chinese Basketball Association

Former Dallas Mavericks guard Dominique Jones of the Qingdao Eagles had a remarkable game performance in the last 14th round of the 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) earning him the right to be named Asia-Basket.com Player of the Week.

The 28-year-old American veteran basketball player displayed an impressive game night scoring 45 points, pulling down nine rebounds and dishing out six assists in leading his team to a victory against the team of Fujian Sturgeons last Sunday evening.

According to Asia-Basket, the product of the University of South Florida Bulls had a spectacular 66.7 percent shooting clip from the 2-point range and connected two of his three attempts from beyond the arc region. Jones also went perfect from the foul line making all of the 15 free shots awarded to him during the game.

He has guided the Chinese professional basketball club to its sixth win in 14 games played after eight weeks since the regular season kicked off last October. The Eagles currently sits on the 12th spot of the league's team standings.

Jones, who has been a notable scorer during his collegiate days, is in the CBA's top in points. He is the league's ninth leading scorer averaging 31.6 points per outing. The 2010 NBA Draft 25th overall pick has a solid average of .0557 field goal percentage for this season.

By comparing his stat lines in the NBA and in the CBA, it appears that Jones is having a greater time in the Chinese League. According to the official website of the NBA, Jones is just averaging 3.1 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 rebounds in the 80 games that he appeared for the Mavericks.

Jones, who is listed 6-foot-5-inches tall (1.96 meters) and weighs 215 pounds (98 kilograms), is playing for his fourth Chinese side in the biggest professional basketball league in Asia. He previously played for Liaoning Flying Leopards (2013-2014 season) and Jilin Northeastern Tigers (2014-2015 season) before fitting in for the team of Shanxi Zhongyu in the league's last season.
