Andrew Bogut is reportedly on the Dallas Mavericks' trading block and the Portland Trail Blazers are rumored to be set to rival the Boston Celtics for the veteran big man.
Bogut, 32, was acquired by the Mavericks in a trade with the Golden State Warriors in July. He was considered as a one-season rental as the Australian center is in the final year of his three-year, $36 million deal with the Warriors.

With the trade deadline drawing near, Bogut's name has been mentioned in a lot of trade rumors as Dallas is in the midst of perhaps the worst season in the club's history since drafting Dirk Nowitzki.
Right now, the Mavs are in the cellar of the West standings with a 4-17 record.
ESPN indicated that the Mavs has "yet to make Bogut available for potential deals", but that might come soon when the NBA's restriction to trade newly-signed free agents is lifted on Dec. 15.
According to reports, the Celtics were the first team to show interest in trading for the former NBA blocks leader as Boston reportedly needs more rebounding and rim protection, something that new acquisition Al Horford cannot completely provide.
However, CBS Sports reported that the Blazers have emerged as another NBA club that wants to pursue Bogut before the trade deadline and they are said to be ready to contend with the Celtics for the signature of the 7-foot shot-blocking big man.
The report noted that "no team needs Bogut more than" the Blazers right now as Portland is currently "29th in defensive rating and they're still getting bullied on the boards". Bogut could also help the backcourt tandem of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum get more open looks in the same way he did it with Steph Curry and Klay Thompson at Golden State for four seasons.
However, it is still unclear who or what assets is Portland ready to give up in exchange for Bogut.
Portland has a host of big men and wing players who are potential trade assets. Earlier reports this season said that Maurice Harkless, Evan Turner, Allen Crabbe, and Al-Farouq Aminu could be traded if it means improving the team's roster.
