Chinese Basketball Association: Shanghai Sharks Down Beijing Ducks; Jimmer Fredette Puts on Another Monster Game Performance

Table leader Shanghai Sharks continued to show its dominance in the 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association following its 99-94 win over the team of Beijing Ducks in the 17th round of the biggest league in Asia on Wednesday night.

According to EuroBasket, the current CBA's leading scorer Jimmer Fredette led the Sharks with another explosive game performance. The former NBA player finished the match with a double-double game production of 38 points and 11 rebounds while having an 8-16 shooting clip from the two-point range and going 13-14 from the stripe in 45 minutes of playing time.

Frenchman Guerschon Yabusele contributed with 17 markers, and local players XiaoYu Liu and ZhaoXu Zhang chipped in with 13 points each for the Sharks, which outrebounded the opposing team with a 45-35 advantage during the game.

Former NBA All-Star Stephon Marbury paced Beijing with another double-double game production of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while fellow foreign reinforcement Randolph Morris also had 24 markers under his name.

With the victory, Shanghai strengthened its hold on the top of the team standing with an impressive 16-1 win-loss record. The Sharks have also extended the team's winning streak to a spectacular 10 consecutive games in a row since suffering their solitary loss against the team of Jilin Northeast Tigers in the seventh round of the regular season.

Basing from the game result in the website of NowGoal, the Sharks put on an early 21-14 run during the initial 12 minutes of the match. However, the Ducks were able to regroup and stage a 34-28 charge in the second quarter to cap the first half trailing only by a single point, 49-48.

In the second half, the Sharks once again outgunned the Ducks, who were plagued with 25 personal team fouls all throughout the contest, with a 26-20 third quarter outburst to enter the final period of the game with a seven-point lead, 75-68.

In the final quarter of the game, Beijing outpoints Shanghai with a 26-24 run, but it was not to steal the game away from the Sharks.
