Recent rumors have emerged that the Los Angeles Lakers are willing to trade Jordan Clarkson and Lou Williams to the Washington Wizards for John Wall.

The Lakers are currently on an eight-game losing slide after having a strong start to the season. Their slump was said to be mainly caused by injuries hitting their starting unit, namely D'Angelo Russell and Nick Young.

With their recent struggles, trade speculations are out that the Lakers could explore the trade market this midseason to re-tool their roster.

However, according to Inquisitr, the Lakers are not only planning a revamp but is actually targeting a reunion of two All-Star players in Los Angeles. The report mentioned that the Hollywood squad wants to trade for Wizards point guard John Wall soon in order to lure Sacramento Kings' DeMarcus Cousins near the February trade deadline next year.

It was also indicated that the Lakers are willing to send two of their best players, starter or otherwise, in Clarkson and Williams plus two future first-round draft picks to Washington in exchange for Wall.

Should the Lakers give up that much in trading for Wall, it would be interesting to see what kind of package are they going to offer the Kings to acquire Cousins and what will be left of their roster once the two deals are completed.

Clarkson and Williams are making the Lakers bench stable at the moment and giving them up would certainly mean a downgrade to the team's second unit.

It is also unsure whether D'Angelo Russell would be happy playing as Wall's primary backup should the trade pushes through, which means Russell could be part of the package to trade for Cousins, leaving the Lakers with only one reliable point guard in the end.

However, Lakers Nation reported that the team is "not desperate" to make trades this season despite their losing streak, according to Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak, although they will be doing their "due diligence" to examine the market.

"We're fun to watch. We're very competitive. We love our coaching staff. We love our young players. We're going to have to be a little patient," said Kupchak.

"We're going to have to do our job which is to look at opportunities that may come up in the next month or two. And if there are none, which is fine with me, because I like the young guys on the team, then during the offseason we'll have to look at opportunities," he added.
