Sacramento Kings' disgruntled small forward Rudy Gay going to the Oklahoma City Thunder is "inevitable", according to the latest NBA trade rumors.

Gay, 30, has been the subject of a lot of trade rumors since last year when he welcomed then head coach George Karl to "basketball hell" in February 2015.

The small forward's unhappiness in Sacramento has become more evident in the recent offseason when he told reporters that he wants his career to become more stable, comparing his situation to those of fellow veterans Paul Pierce and Jamal Crawford who are currently with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Finally, just before the start of the season, Gay told reporters that he already advised the Kings he would not be re-signing with the club when he becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer, which further fanned the flame of trade rumors mentioning the former Connecticut standout.

Just recently, Gay was linked to the Thunder as OKC is reportedly looking for a "bigger wing" and a scoring support for main man Russell Westbrook.

Fox Sports indicated that the Kings trading Gay is a "'when' and not 'if' scenario at this point" and that Gay could have already been in a Thunder uniform by now if not for Cameron Payne's injury in September.

Curiously, Payne is said to be only "days away" to coming back from his foot injury and a deal could be made once he returns.

Meanwhile, Bleacher Report reported that aside from the Thunder, the Pacers and Rockets are also interested in acquiring Gay, citing a podcast by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

"There's no question Oklahoma City. Indiana has had interest in him," said Wojnarowski. "Houston has had some peripheral interest. I don't think they have the pieces to trade."

Indiana and Houston are both in the same situation as OKC right now with one superstar and a bunch of role players surrounding the said lone star.

Gay would be a great complement for any of the three clubs as a secondary option in offense and a big wing player in defense.
