Britain's famous scientific journal 'Nature' acknowledged China's several stellar achievements in science and space in the year 2016 in its latest report published on Friday.
Recapping the milestones in space missions, the journal lauded China's successful launch of quantum satellite in August, which apparently is the world's first quantum satellite. Later, the report highlighted about the world's largest radio telescope that went operation in Guizhou province in September.

It also mentioned about China's longest manned mission where two astronauts spent almost one month in the Tiangong-2 space laboratory.
The famous journal then summarized China's achievements in medical and engineering fields. It specifically mentioned about a Chinese lung cancer patient who became the first person in the world to be treated with CRISPR-Cas9 technology.
Further, it claimed that research teams in China, UK, and Sweden have announced their intentions to use the CRISPR-Cas9 technology to optimize the use of embryos and to inspect human development.
Going beyond scientific achievements, the report made a special mention about China's fight against climate change.
It praised Chinese parliament's decision to ratify the Paris climate agreement 2015, which aims to bring down the level of green house gases across the world. The ratification paved the way for the implementation of the Paris agreement in China, which is one of the world's largest emitter of green house gas.
The report also recounted several scientific achievements at the global level including researchers detecting gravitational waves and research following the outbreak of deadly Zika virus.
