Chinese Basketball Association: Shanghai Sharks Rout Guangsha Lions; Jimmer Fredette Scores 35 Points

After suffering a stunning upset from the lowly ranked Beikong Fly Dragons last Friday, the league leading team of the Shanghai Sharks immediately bounced back and returned to the winning column in the expense of the Guangsha Lions with a 103-87 win in the 19th round of the Chinese Basketball Association.

According to EuroBasket, former NBA player Jimmer Fredette finished the game with another double-double game performance of game-highs 35 points and 16 rebounds to go along with four assist, three steals, and one blocked shot. The product of the Brigham Young University went 9-13 from the two-point range, a perfect 5-5 from the foul line and connected four three-pointers during the solid 34 minutes of playing time.
Frenchman Guerschon Yabusele also had a double-double game production of 25 markers and 15 boards. Chinese players XiaoYu Liu and ZhaoXu Zhang chipped in with 12 points and 11 points, respectively, for the Sharks, who imposed a solid defense in protecting the rim with a team-combined 13 blocked shots during the game.
Foreign basketball reinforcement Courtney Fortson paced Guangsha with team-high 26 points, while Chinese center Jinqiu Hu added with 14 points.
The victory strengthened Shanghai's hold on the top of the team standing with an outstanding 17-2 win-loss record. On the other hand, the defeat was Guangsha's fifth loss of the season and they are now tied with the teams of Shenzhen and Liaoning for the fourth to sixth place in the league's table.
Basing from the match result in the website of the NowGoal, the Sharks put on an early 29-21 run in the first 12 minutes of the ballgame. The winning team ended the first half leading by nine points, 59-50.
The Sharks continued to control the game as they stormed the Lions with a 24-20 third quarter outburst to establish a double-digit advantage of 13 points going in to the final period of the contest. Shanghai remained in the front seat in the fourth quarter and sealed the win.
