Guangdong Southern Tigers Score Another Victory, Beat Guangzhou Long-Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association Round 19

Guangdong Southern Tigers continue to stretch their winning ways as they routed the league's worst performing team Guangzhou Long-Lion with a 101-80 victory in the 19th round of the 22nd season of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

According to EuroBasket, four-time CBA Domestic MVP Yi Jianlian had another spectacular double-double game performance of game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four blocked shots and three steals in leading the Southern Tigers to its 16th victory of the regular season.The Chinese basketball superstar went 10-14 from the field and converted 8-10 free shots from the foul line while playing for a solid 36 minutes of playing time.

American import Donald Sloan contributed with 20 markers, while local player Rui Zhao chipped in with 13 points. Carlos Boozer was a rebound away in finishing the game in double-double as the former NBA player scored 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds during the game.

Saint John's Red Storm product D.J. Kennedy paced Guangzhou with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Asian import Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami of Iran also had 21 markers for the losing side.

With the win, the Southern Tigers now improved to a better 16-3 win-loss card. It also extends the Feng Du-headed basketball squad's winning streak to impressive 14 straight games in a row.

Guangdong is currently tied with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers for the second and third place in the 20-team Chinese League table.

Basing from the game result in the NowGoal, the Southern Tigers ended the first 24 minutes of the contest leading by nine points, 46-37. The winning team, who forced the Long-Lions to commit 17 turnovers, put on a 28-15 run during the third period of the game to establish a comfortable 22-point advantage, 74-52.

In the final 12 minutes of the match, the Southern Tigers continued to contain the Long-Lions and protected their huge lead to seal the game with another win.
