The visiting NBA Western Conference ballclub of Memphis Grizzlies got the better of the Eastern Conference team of Detroit Pistons with a 98-86 victory on Wednesday evening at The Palace in Auburn Hills, Michigan, as Marc Gasol stepped up and stand as the team's leader.
According to the official website of the NBA, the starting center led the Robert Pera-owned team by pouring in game-high 38 points, matching his career-high that he registered in the last season in their 113-104 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Gasol also had four assists, two steals, and two blocked shots in 37 minutes of playing time.

"I knew I just had to keep shooting and keep trying to help the team as much as I could until things starting falling," Gasol, who went 18 for 62 during the slump, said.
"Tonight I got going, and my teammates kept finding me. When you are making shots, everything seems easier," the Spanish basketball superstar added in a published report of the ESPN.
The spectacular effort from the 2013 NBA Defensive Player of the Year, who went on a 14 for 17 shooting from the floor, helped the Grizzlies break a three-game losing skid. Gasol steered the FedEx Forum-homed side to a better 19-12 win-loss card and instilled a positive mindset for the team following their losses to the Sacramento Kings, Utah Jazz, and Boston Celtics over the last few days.
On the other hand, the Pistons dropped its fourth straight game in a row, losing all the matches by disappointing double figures. Reggie Jackson and Jon Leuer finished the game with 18 points apiece, while Andre Drummond had 13 points and 19 rebounds for the losing side.
The Grizzlies will be trying to extend its winning when they host the Houston Rockets on Friday, while the Pistons will be trying to end their losing skid when they face the league leading team of the Golden State Warriors.
