In just a matter of days after the renders of the rumored Nokia C1 surfaced on a Chinese microblogging website, a benchmark result believed to be that of another Nokia phone appeared on Geekbench. A benchmark result of the Nokia Z2 Plus turned up on Geekbench, and it revealed some important specs of one of Nokia's upcoming smartphones.

The Nokia Z2 Plus benchmark was uploaded on Dec. 13. Based on the benchmark results, the phone managed to score 2,156 points in single-core test and 5,217 points in multi-core test. The benchmarks were tested on Geekbench version 3.2.1 for the Android platform.

Based on the leaked benchmark listing, the Nokia Z2 Plus will run on Android 6.0.1, although there is still the possibility of the phone receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update in the future. According to BGR, the phone has a quad-core Qualcomm ARMv8 processor clocked at 1.77GHz and was also listed to have 4GB of memory.

According to Slash Gear, based on the benchmark scores alone, it is safe to assume that the Nokia Z2 Plus will be a high-end device. The benchmark listing did not provide the actual chipset of the phone, but it is clear from the number of cores and the clock speed that it is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. However, there is also the possibility that the phone will use a Snapdragon 821 since there are only subtle differences between the two chipsets when it comes to core counts and clock speeds.

Rumors claimed that since the phone carries the Plus brand, there is a big possibility that Nokia is working on a lower-end model that will be branded simply as Nokia Z2. Nokia is expected to unveil its newest smartphone lineup next year at the Mobile World Congress.
