The Android 5.0 L update release from the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 is still unconfirmed.

Recent leaks and reports, however, suggest it'll be available soon despite Google not revealing when it'll roll out.

Android 5.0 L will be the biggest Google mobile operating system update since 2008. Here are the main features of the new Android update.

It's expected to be even bigger than the changes from Gingerbread to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

People can expect a full Android experience with a unified ecosystem through software and hardware like the Apple iOS 8.

The Android L will have a flatter design emphasizing elevation, space and depth. Icons will also be more interactive with Personal Unlocking. This feature allows owners to be more in control of its pattern, PIN unlock and password protocols.

Google will reportedly debut several Nexus devices such as the Nexus 5 2014 or Nexus 6, Nexus 8 along with the Android Lion.

There are two possible Nexus 6 manufacturers: HTC and Motorola.

If Nexus 6 will be made by Motorola, then the Nexus 6 could be like the Moto X 2014. According to a benchmark leak, the Nexus 5 2014 or Nexus 6 or Nexus X runs on Android 5.0 Lion.

Google may have paired with Nestle with the new platform being named after its Lion Bar product.

Other features include a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.7 GHz, 32 GB of internal storage, 3 GB of RAM and a 12 MP rear camera.

It's said to feature a 5.9-inch display. Meanwhile, the Nexus 8 could have a NVIDIA Tegra 64-bit processor, 4 GB of RAM, 4G MDM9x25 chip and 1.6 MP front-facing camera with a starting price of US$399.
