NBA: Boston Celtics Down Memphis Grizzlies; Avery Bardley, Isaiah Thomas Combined 44 Points

The Eastern Conference third-top team Boston Celtics got the better of the visiting Memphis Grizzlies with a 113-103 victory at the TD Garden on Tuesday evening to beat the Robert Pera-owned squad for the second time in a week.
According to a published report of the ESPN, starters Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas poured in 23 points and 21 points, respectively, to lead the Celtics to another victorious game. The host team led by just four points with 1:29 remaining on the game clock but clinched it with six consecutive conversions from the foul line in the final 60 seconds of the contest.

"They made plays. We stood our ground and stuck out a win," Thomas, who went perfect 8-of-8 from the stripe and dished out team-high seven assists during the game, said after the match.
Boston had an impressive 90.5 percent free throw shooting as they only missed two of the team's 21 free throws. They also outrebounded Memphis 47-37 and beat the Grizzlies for the second time in a week.
On Dec. 20, the winning ballclub needed overtime and a career-high 44 points from Thomas for a 112-109 triumph in Memphis and the rematch was almost as close.
Basing from the official website of the NBA, the Celtics currently own a 19-13 win-loss card and have won six of the last 10 games played. With the victory, Boston, which won despite committing 17 turnovers, including seven in the final period, improved their home game record to 7-6.
Memphis, on the other hand, suffered its 14th loss of the season and the sixth of the last 10 matches played. The Grizzlies was led by the Spaniard big man Marc Gasol with team-high 26 markers.
The defending NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers will be the next game assignment of the Celtics on Thursday evening at the Quicken Loans Arena. Cleveland is currently 16-2 at home this season, while Boston is now 12-7 on road.
