Guangsha Lions Beat Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association Round 22

After a sloppy lost against the league's defending champions Sichuan Blue Whales last Christmas day, the team of Guangsha Lions immediately bounced back in the expense of the Xinjiang Flying Tigers with a 100-97 triumph in the 22nd round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Wednesday night.

According to EuroBasket, American reinforcement Elijah Holman and Asian import Chih-Chieh Lin both scored 22 points to give Guangsha its 16th victory in 22 games played this season.
The 2014 Russian Superleague MVP Courtney Fortson was a rebound short to finish the game with an impressive triple-game performance. The 5-foot-11 tall American point guard scored 21 points, dished out 13 assists, and pulled down nine rebounds to go along with two steals in 41 minutes of playing time for the Lions.
Cheng Liu and Jinglong Li chipped with 12 points and 10 points, respectively, for the winning team, who forced Xinjiang to commit 16 turnovers during the game.
Former Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche paced the Flying Tigers with game-highs 43 points and 19 rebounds, while Chinese big man Zhou Qi also finished the match in double-double production with 16 markers and 10 boards.
With the victory, the Lions now improved to a better 16-6 win-loss card and currently sit at the fifth spot of the Chinese league's team standing. Guangsha will be facing the 13th-rank team of the Qingdao Eagles in the next round on Friday night.
Basing from the match result in the website of NowGoal, the winning team trailed in the opening period as Xinjiang put on a better 26-23 first quarter run. However, Guangsha was able to equalized as they outscored the Flying Tigers in the second quarter 32-29 to end the first half at 55-all.
In the third period, Guangsha continued to have better offensive attacks as they took the lead 81-76, entering the final 12 minutes of the contest.
In the final quarter, the Lions were able to protect their lead and limit the point production of the opposing team to seal the win.
