Chinese Basketball Association Round 25: Guangdong Southern Tigers Versus Fujian Sturgeons Game Preview

Following their impressive game performance in the last round, the league's second-top team of Guangdong Southern Tigers will be looking to continue its winning streak when they face the 15th ranked ballclub of the Fujian Sturgeons in the upcoming 25th round of the Chinese Basketball Association on Wednesday night.

The Southern Tigers (20-4) will be coming in to the game with a fresh 116-107 win over the CBA's leading team Shanghai Sharks last Sunday. The Feng Du-headed squad is likely to carry the positive effect of the side's latest victory when the play the Sturgeons, whom they have beaten in the previous round six of the Chinese league with a 104-87 triumph last November.
Guangdong's foreign basketball reinforcements Donald Sloan and Carlos Boozer are expected to showcase their spectacular basketball skills and lead the Southern Tigers to another favorable game result.
Basing from the box score of the EuroBasket in their game against Shanghai, the two former NBA players have a combined 48 points and 16 rebounds. Sloan went on a 9-13 shooting from the field, while Boozer made nine of his 14 attempts from the two-point range.
On the other hand, Fujian (7-17) will also be trying to replicate its superb game against the team of the lowly Guangzhou Long-Lions when they enter the hard court against the Southern Tigers. Former Portland Trail Blazers player JJ Hickson is expected to carry the Sturgeons in their next game assignment, while NBA recruit Wang Zhelin, who scored 23 points against the Long-Lions, is likely to give the team his 100 percent in trying to notch a victory over Guangdong.
According to Asia-Basket, Hickson is averaging 26.8 points per game for Fujian and currently ranks fifth in the CBA in rebound with average of 13.6 boards per contest. The 28-year-old American player had double-double game performance of 27 points and 13 rebounds in their latest 101-99 win over Guangzhou.
Hickson is a 53.6 percent shooter from the two-point range and 72.9 percent dependable from the foul line.
