There are new rumors circulating online that the Phoenix Suns could send Brandon Knight and Tyson Chandler to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Tristan Thompson and Iman Shumpert.
Speculations that Phoenix is trying to deal Knight away this season is nothing as the 25-year-old point guard has been in the rumor mill since the end of last season. When Suns head coach Earl Watson announced in the last offseason that Knight will be relegated to a bench role in favor of up-and-coming young shooting guard Devin Booker, the rumors intensified even more.

Recently, 16-year veteran Chandler has also become the subject of trade rumors. He was particularly linked to the Portland Trail Blazers, who are reportedly in need of a reliable rim protector.
Meanwhile, the Cavs are still being hounded by trade speculations at this point of the season, especially after LeBron James told the media that the defending champions still has "a couple more things" to do to prepare themselves from defending their title in June.
"We still got a couple more things we need to do," said James on Friday before their match against the Brooklyn Nets, as per Sporting News. "We got to get a point guard."
"Yeah, it's my last time saying it. We need a point guard," James repeated, evidently emphasizing his message.
With those premises, Inquisitr reported that a trade between the Suns and Cavs could happen soon. The terms of the trade are said to be Knight and Chandler moving to the Cavs while Thompson and Shumpert going to the Suns.
Should the trade pushes through, the Cavs will immediately answer the point guard issues LeBron has been calling out all along. Knight is certainly going to be a reliable backup for Kyrie Irving. He could even play as a starter whenever head coach Tyronn Lue decides to rest Irving to keep the starting point guard fresh in the team's playoffs battles ahead.
Chandler is a decent replacement for Thompson despite his advancing age. The report noted that it would a "small downgrade" for Cleveland, which is something they would have to deal with again in the future.
The deal is highly beneficial for the Suns, though, as both Thompson and Shumpert are championship-caliber veterans that could help the team get back into title-contention soonest.
