The third leading team of the Guangdong Southern Tigers will be looking to further stretch their winning streak as they face seventh-ranked Shandong Golden Stars on Sunday for the 30th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
The Southern Tigers will be coming in to the match carrying a 2-1 win-loss record in their last three outings in the league's previous rounds. Guangdong suffered its sixth defeat of the season in the hands of the Xinjiang Flying Tigers last January 13 but immediately bounced back and beat the teams of Qingdao Eagles and the Bayi Rockets, respectively.

According to Asia-Basket, the last two matches of the Southern Tigers have been won in huge margins. Guangdong grinded Qingdao in the 27th round with a 125-96 win while they pulverized Bayi with a 107-70 triumph on January 18.
The Southern Tigers ranked third in the league for the team with the most assists per game having an average of 17.6 assists per contest while they are rated No. 6 in the CBA in the rebounds category after averaging 42.4 boards per game.
Guangdong's foreign basketball reinforcements Carlos Boozer and Donald Sloan are once again expected to lead the team to another favorable game result in claiming their second consecutive victory over Shandong, which they defeated with a 104-94 win in the first half of the two round-robin regular season.
Sloan is the Southern Tigers' leading scorer averaging 25.1 points per match and the former NBA player was the CBA's sixth leading playmaker with a 6.3 assist per game average. On the other hand, Boozer was the team's top rebounder having an 11.2 average in pulling down rebounds.
And with the CBA's four-time Domestic MVP Yi Jianlian back into his winning form, the Southern Tigers are expected to hold a bigger chance of beating the Golden Stars once again. According to EuroBasket, the Chinese basketball superstar scored 17 points in just 19 minutes of playing time in the most recent round.
The Southern Tigers currently own a 23-6 win-loss record while the Golden Stars have a 17-12 win-loss card.
