Chinese professional cueist Ding Junhui was shocked by the seasoned English snooker player Joe Perry with a 6-1 victory in the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2017 Snooker Masters at the Alexandra Palace in London, Great Britain on Friday.
Ding, who is currently ranked as the sixth-best snooker competitor in the world, lost five straight frames in a row, making it 5-1 with a break of 54 before losing the match's seventh frame without scoring a point, according to Xinhua.

Perry, who defeated the 29-year-old Chinese in the first round match in 2015 for his only Masters win in eight previous appearances, will now face fellow Englishman Barry Hawkins on Saturday evening for a spot in the tournament's final round.
According to China Daily, Hawkins is the event's runner-up last year. The 37-year-old native of Ditton stunned the ruling world number one Mark Selby with a 6-3 upset in the day's another game.
"I was not in form today," Ding, who was the only Asian player in the sport to be ranked world number one, said.
"I don't feel good. That just happened to me. I want to play well, but I just can't find the form. Joe played very well. He is now a much better player than 10 years ago when I just turned professional." The 2016 World Snooker Championship runner-up continued.
The current world No.9 Perry, who won his first ranking title at the 2015 Players Championship, was all but praise to the highest ranked Chinese cueman in the planet, who made too many unforced errors as his usually-accurate potting radar went awry.
"It doesn't get much better than that. Ding is one of the greatest players the game has ever seen. We all know what he's capable of." The 42-year-old native of Wisbech, United Kingdom said.
"I just felt like I controlled the match from start to finish, so that's a real feather in my cap." Perry continued.
