Wayne Rooney has received a mind-boggling $1.2 million per week offer from the Chinese Super League and Manchester United is allegedly open to selling him at the end of the season.
Rooney, 31, has fallen out of manager Jose Mourinho's starting XI and is said to be looking to move away from Old Trafford soon. The England national team captain has been with the Red Devils for 12-and-a-half seasons and is one of world football's biggest superstars in terms of skills and crowd-drawing power. He is currently earning $350,000 a week.

The Sun reported that unnamed Chinese top-flight clubs are willing to make the Manchester United captain the highest-paid footballer in the world with a $1.2 million weekly wage, which would be equivalent to more than $69 million in annual earnings.
Rooney and his family is said to be established in Manchester, and so a move away from England could be a long shot, but United "may not stand in the way" of the player if he decides to accept the "untold riches" China has to offer and leave this summer.
Rooney recently achieved a milestone at United, scoring his 250th goal for the club, which made him its all-time leading goalscorer.
Sports Mole cited a China source as saying "Rooney might be allowed to leave United this summer" and that it would be a "good time to go because he is now the top scorer in the club's history".
Rooney's family is said to be "very settled" in Cheshire, especially his wife Collen who is "very close to her family," but they would be open to a move to the Far East to support him to maximize his "earning potential" while he can still play.
The Englishman still has one year left in his contract and there are no indications that the Red Devils are planning to give him an extension.
There are rumors that capital city squad Beijing Guoan and Chinese Super League champions Guangzhou Evergrande are both interested in signing Rooney.
