The Shandong Golden Stars escaped with a close 99-98 win to defeat the Guangdong Southern Tigers in the 30th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Sunday evening at the Shandong Arena in Jinan.

With the victory, the Golden Stars avenged their initial 104-94 loss to the Southern Tigers in the 11th round of the regular season in November last year. It also strengthened the team's chances of finishing in the CBA's Final Eight.
