Midfielder Tjaronn Chery has left the second tier English football club Queens Park Rangers in order to move to Chinese side Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng of the Chinese Super League (CSL).

According to Sports Mole, at the start of the January transfer window, it was reported that the 28-year-old Netherlands native was close to departing the Hoops and the club have now confirmed that the former FC Groningen striker has made the switch to Asia for an undisclosed salary.

"Tjaronn approached me a few weeks ago and told me he wanted to leave," QPR manager Ian Holloway told the club's official website.

"Whilst it's disappointing to lose a player of Tjaronn's ability, I only want players at QPR who want to be here.

"As a manager, when a player tells you he wants to leave with 18 months left to run on their contract, it's in the club's best interests to part ways and bring in players who want to play for the club."

According Club Call, the Ducthman signed a three-year deal when he joined QPR from the Eredivisie side FC Groningen in the summer of 2015 after the Loftus Road Stadium-grounded club activated an undisclosed release clause. Chery has netted 14 goals in his 62 official appearances for QPR, who are currently in 17th place in the Sky Bet Championship.

Since December 18 of the previous year, Chery has not starred for the QPR. He will be Guizhou Zhicheng's fourth non-Chinese player registered by the team though new CSL regulations will be limiting clubs to having only three on the field at one time.

Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng is a newly promoted Chinese Football Club in the country's highest tier of professional football. The team finishes second in the 2016 China League One next to the Tianjin Quanjian, which claim the second tier's title.

The club is based in Guiyang, Guizhou and their home ground is the Guiyang Olympic Sports Center that has a seating capacity of over 51,000. The seasoned Chinese manager Li Bing is the current bench boss of the team.
