Gionee P7 Max Receives New OTA Update With Panic Button Support

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has rolled out a new OTA update for its Gionee P7 Max smartphone. This latest update will bring Panic Button support for this device, which is in line with Government of India directive that states that all mobile phones sold in India starting from January 2017 should come with a panic button.

According to Gionee, to use this new feature, users have to press the power button three times continuously to trigger the panic button. In addition, this latest update also fixes some of the minor bugs from the original firmware and also enhanced the performance of the phone.
As for the overall specification of the device, the Gionee P7 Max smartphone features a 5.5-inch IPS HD display screen with 1280 pixels by 720 pixels resolution. Under the hood, the handheld device is powered an octa-core MediaTek MT6595 processor clocked at a speed of 2.2 GHz, which is coupled with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM onboard.
The Gionee P7 Max comes equipped with a built-in 32GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expandable up to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. On the photography side, the phone sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash support and a 5-megapixel front sensor for selfies. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, which is paired with Amigo 3.2 user interface laid on top of it.
Fueling the Gionee P7 Max smartphone is a 3,100 mAh capacity battery which is said to offer 290 hours of standby time. Other features the device offers include dual SIM, support 4G, GPS/AGPS, WiFi, micro USB, and Bluetooth 2.0.
