OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS Open Beta 3 for Android 7.1 update for their smartphones, the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3, in China only.
The current update gives way to provide Android 7.1.1 Nougat to the company’s latest smartphones and all the perks that come with it. OnePlus has its their main software stream (official OxygenOS) from their Open Beta system, allowing users to select which stream to use. The official stable builds are available to Android 7.0 for the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T; however, the Open Beta users get the latest software much faster.

The newly release build also features the March 2017 security update for Android, which is the latest version of the OS that is being used by the company. The update size is about 1.3 GB for both the devices, and it will be the same for international variants.
If the user is already using the Open Beta software, expect that it would arrive as an over-the-air (OTA) update. If the user chooses the official stable build, it is recommended that they flash it to the phone via ADB. OnePlus recommends backing up the files from the device before flashing via ADB sideload. Also, if the user switches to Open Beta OTAs, they will no longer receive any official OTA updates.
The new changes include Hydrogen OS update with changes and bug fixes present in Android 7.0. The Notes app has Cloud Synchronization updates too with Picture Editor app, and its Shot on OnePlus wallpapers option will now allow users to set wallpaper to change automatically everyday.
For the Gallery app update, the following are the changes: the photo editor features watermark and photo straightening options, the Photo section will emphasize on newly added media, the image location will be displayed in grid view, media files can now be arranged by month and year, media and other folders can also be hidden, and lastly, there are general bug fixes.
