Faye Wong and Nicholas Tse’s rumored renewed romance has caused a spark over the internet.

The alleged rekindled love affair between the Chinese pop diva and the Hong Kong-Canadian heartthrob has caught the attention of Chinese netizens, after the two celebrities were spotted kissing in a video uploaded on Sohu.

The Wong and Tse love affair ended in 2004 after four years of the relationship. In 2006, Tse married Cecilia Cheung and had two sons prior their divorce in 2011. On the other hand, Wong was previously married to Dou Wei and incurred divorce in 1999. In 2005, Wong married actor Li Yapeng in 2005 but divorced in 2013.

The video has attracted 3.4 times more users on microblogging site Sina Weibo since it came out. This was more than the interest given by users when Chinese award winning director Wang Quan’an was arrested last week for contacting and hiring a prostitute. Furthermore, the news about the revived romance of the celebrities gained 2.7 times attention compared to the alleged illicit affair of Chinese star Yao Chen.

The video uploaded on Sohu, YouTube’s equivalent in China, showed the two shortly kissing in Wong’s residence in Beijing. The video was also accompanied with an article saying Wong and Tse have not gone out from the apartment for four days. After being uploaded on Saturday, the video has been viewed more than 10 million times.

Meanwhile, the information on Weibo has sent a shockwave to more than 30 million people just after 10 hours of posting.

Critics gave different reaction on the revived romance of the two celebrities. Some applauded Wong and Tse for following their hearts after being single again. Meanwhile, others saw this act “disgusting” as both of them have their children.

Sympathies poured towards Tse’s ex-wife Cheung after reports said she fell ill after hearing the news. Cheung received 12.6% positive comments related to the news while Peng, the pop Diva’s ex-husband, got 10.08% positive feedback.
