Google Working on Multi-Window for Android L Update

Phones are getting bigger, and in order to facilitate more screen, Apple and Samsung have both created multi-window solutions, capable of snapping multiple apps and windows onto the screen.
This sort of multi-tasking has previously only been available on desktop, but now even Google seems interested in testing it out, with a new Multi-Window Android L leak, showing how the new feature will work.

The Multi-Window will allow two apps to be on the screen at the same time. These will both run in the foreground, meaning users will switch between them instantaneously. Users will be able to change the size of each app to a certain point.
This will undoubtedly take up more system resources like RAM and processing power. Thankfully, in 2014, there have been a few upgrades on that front, with the Snapdragon 805 and Nvidia Tegra K1, alongside 3GB of RAM.
In the concepts previewed, Google is looking to make some apps compatible with others, allowing the user to drag information from one app onto the other. This would be excellent for productivity, if implemented correctly.
There is no official word on whether Google will launch the new Multi-Window feature with Android L. It didn't come up in their keynote about Android L, back at Google I/O, but plenty of changes and new features have been in the pipeline, for the big update.
Google still hasn't put a date on Android L, but it is expected to come either this month or next. Along with the software update, Google will announce the Nexus 6, developed in partnership with Motorola and the Nexus 9, developed in partnership with HTC.
